What You'll Need: To get started on this DIY project, you'll need: a wooden tray (you can find one at your local craft store or thrift shop) some peel and stick wallpaper from West Coast Walls. Choose a pattern that matches your mom's personality - we chose to use the Delia Floral Burst Wallpaper for our sample tray a ruler measuring tape (the type that you use for sewing) a utility/X-Acto knife (bonus: you get a complimentary one of these with every West Coast Walls wallpaper order!) squeegee or credit card for smoothing (this ALSO comes in your order!) a cutting mat (or a surface that you don't mind marking up when you cut your wallpaper) Step 1: Measure and Cut Measure the inside of the tray and cut the wallpaper to fit (measure twice, cut once 😅). Make sure to leave a little extra on each side to ensure a perfect fit. Step 2: Apply Wallpaper Peel off the backing from the first several inches of the wallpaper. Apply the wallpaper to one edge of the tray. Using this applied part as a hinge, slowly peel away the rest of the backing paper, smoothing down the wallaper and using the squeegee to remove any air bubbles as you go. If there is any excess wallpaper, use the X-Acto knife to trim it precisely to the edges of the tray bottom. Step 3: Seal (Optional) Depending on what you think your Mom may use the tray for, you may choose to seal the wallpaper with a clear sealant. This will protect it from any spills or stains. Step 4: Present Your Masterpiece Once the tray is complete fill it with your mom's favourite drinks, snacks, or flowers (or get bonus points by preparing her a special Mother's Day breakfast in bed and bringing it to her on this tray!).
